So here are some things from the past couple weeks.
ENJOY :)
You are up until 3am the night before driving 7 hours . you are exhausted. you and the 5 other people with you are sleeping at a friends place (i am that friend )
he gives you a couch , futon , air mattress , and one person takes floor. everyone gets in sleeping bags, and not a single sound before a snore. the room is extremely quiet.
Although you are sleeping you don't realize the sun is just eating its cereal and waking up . its 6am . beep beep - beep beep - beep beep . thats when Yann wakes up .
i must warn you here. the story is different from here on out . only because i took out all the swear words. i think we can agree before 8am being woken up unexpectedly sometimes brings new vocabulary out
… Who's cell phone is that , who sets if for 6 am on a saturday im going to kill whoever phone that is , i swear im going to smash it .
he was yelling pretty loud woke up everyone sleeping , probably the neighbours below us and starts moving bags, and searching around the apartment for this phone.
after making a giant ruckus and stomping around the apartment . finally he used his echo location (more yelling) and found the cell phone.
it was really good he knew how to stop the alarm rather than smashing the cell phone. especially because it was his phone the entire time .
good times .
I enjoyed some time with my grandparents cousin and uncle. we had a beer and then I was off to mee the ontario crew for a race. not the downhill longboarding kind though. this was go karting at its best.
The cars were the fastest i have ever seen . like. nerve crushingly fast. its indoor and the floors are waxed like a serene lake . yea it was slippery . pretty fun so for not much money i jumped into a cart and did the last race with four of they guys. wow what a time. i don't think we stopped smiling for a second all laughing and smashing like it was bumper cars. taking great passing lines and sometimes just swerving around to block everyone else cause it was hilarious. the guy waves the flag "FINAL LAP FINAL LAP . " conveniently all five of us are together and gun it around the first few corners . 2 - 3 cars wide in some of the corners , then we come into the first to hairpins . all of us with our own strategy. braden taking inside jakoop with the middle line and me with the outside waiting for them to crash so i can take the inside of the next corner. and thats when all three of our karts connected together, none of us can turn at all now, and SMASH thats the wall . at this point we are laughing historically. noone can believe this happened we all had it planned so well in our heads yet anything can happen. and cause we hit the wall and were all stuck , go karts have no reverse so we had to have the staff come and untangle the karts and stuff . so funny . as we are untangled noone takes off on the gas we all waited. as soon as the last kart is free 123 GO we take off and finish the lap bumping , fish tailing and flooring it all around the track.
this made me really stoked to get in on this so thank you ontario crew for an awesome weekend with some great experiences, encore
Having my grandparents was great we spent some time going around montreal checking out where my grandfather grew up for a while and it was quite interesting to see the places and hear the prices on these buildings now compared to the small amount it cost originally. we were lucky enough to have the owner of one house there to tell us about how the house is now and what its worth , and at the second building it was rather amazing to see the real estate lady standing there to give us lots of information and chat about the building now . no timing could have been better.
I also took my grand parents to a look out on the mountain that they had never seen before. i was completely excited to show them the beautiful night view across the downtown and south of montreal, you can see the towns and districts on the south shore from there quite amazing . huge view
The sunday that just passed i took a road trip with niko who rides for kebbek longboards and Ludo who rides for Rotule longboards.. we went to vermont. chatting and laughing the whole way there and back . the skating was phenomenal i don't care what anyone says. the east coast riding is really rad if you know where the hills are . we decided to ride a mountain pass that has two sides one is 4.2 km and the other is 5km hair pins and fun corners all kinds of great terrain and only a few cars all day. fantastic. :) it was really great riding with ludo and niko here. we went to five different runs one of which was at a camp ground where the guy said we could skate in the park as long as we all payed 3 dollars. how could we say no ? sooo awesome . soooo fun . thanks to will for showing us some fun stuff in your area :)

summers hear, WHAT did you say ?
So here we are. Or here i am .
Its been 4 months
I'm still loving what I do for work.
I've got a great family of friends in montreal
and on July 1st i get my new apartment.
Where do we begin. About 30million years ago when the dinosaurs roamed, there was no apartments. BUT NOW things are great in montreal, especially because we have no dinosaurs.
For the past 4 years since i moved out of London I have had , fun , wild , crazy (sometimes insane) , and weird roommates .
I lived in one apartment for a whole year with Scott at one point. Otherwise I moved every 6 months ish . In 4 years i have lived at 7 different addresses (and at one point in my car for a short period) . Pretty crazy huh ? Aside from the drama, there was always a smile on my face and lots of fun to be had. Only making better friends in barrie and still going to work.
For the first time I am going to own MY own apartment. I am very very excited about this. I have a huge apartment and the price is so good. Its a couple blocks from my work and very close to all the metro systems. This is going to be a good year (and hopefully longer if i like the place )
Skateboarding : its good and stuff .
So Montreal has some amazing skateboarding inside and out. I've been doing alot of traveling with my awesome Friends. Some of which this weekend are Ludo , MGR and Dmitri . This is the best skate crew i could ask for on a road trip. We are going to pensylvania. Wooo hooo . I have only been there once in my life and i just drove right through it. This time its going to be fun. We are going to a race called The Mustache Derby . If you wish to race you MUST have a mustache, absolutely mandatory (thats right dad you would be allowed to race with us ) . prizes for winners and participation, but also prizes for best REAL and FAKE mustache . Ridiculous .
On another note this weekend (and for a while ) I can be proud to say i will be riding for a few sponsors! The Escarpent Surfers , Moon Pucks , Team Quebec , and KEBBEK! This is really exciting for me to receive some stoke from my fellow riders and companies surrounding us. Woo hoo (go buy their stuff )
anywhom. I will write something really awesome about the last three weeks while on my trip and you can get a good laugh out of some of the things I've been through
love you all

Read This Twice
Words of advice :
Its a great thing to have a presentable front door, but if its not unlocked you can't let opportunity in .
I was on a skateboarding adventure with my good pal MGR and the advice he gave me was really great , his father told him this and I'm glad he could pass it to me.
"until you are 30, these years are diamonds, don't burn them" and its true, when you are in these years your life is literally shaped around everything you do and i think its amazing how "if you work for it you can have it" is a saying we all shrug off. when realistically i am fortunate enough to be living in a positive light of this. Great work , great friends, great family, everyday .
.
Beer is a lot like Hockey, when you are Young, your dad loves it and you don't understand why. But as i found myself driving my car down the street listening to am radio so i could catch the last period of the Montreal game, i realized you grow to love the taste, and you eventually find yourself in a play off rivalry that you cant get yourself out of. Also as im sure you notice with Beer and Hockey comes AM radio. we wont go there.
I decided to take a new way home from my friends house on thursday night. as i was listening to the game end on the radio, i decided to drive by the bell centre. not putting two and two together. (4 for those who are wondering ) It was a home game for the habs. so STUPID ME , i catch myself thinking "why are there 4 cops on every street intersection for blocks and blocks. " maybe because sometimes boston and montreal like to have riots ? or maybe because i was to into the game to realize that in about 2 minutes a tidal wave of people was about to come swarming down the street not caring about a single vehicle . RIDICULOUS.
And now that the weather is beautiful out (when its not snowing -ahem- )
At work we decided to start eating lunch outside in the sun since we don't have a lot of windows its great to be able to get some sunlight into your day. So today (friday - aka the day after the boston / montreal game ) we are outside enjoying our lunch innocently, and a "gentlemen" comes up and asks us in broken french (even though he was clearly french ) "avez vous use dollaire ? " (do you have a dollar)
we asked "what is it for"
the wonderfully presented man says over his giant gut " its for beer "
we reply with "sorry sir , not going to happen"
again he says " its for food ? " -at this point he's not even sure how he's going to get the dollar , he's asking statements . making me try not to laugh
Tim says "here have this banana i already ate my lunch"
*man takes banana* *stands there awkwardly inhaling banana*
(now at this point you have to understand that the conversation didn't happen as fast as you just read it here, this took like 10 minutes, it was slow and nothing less than awkward. and he is smoking a gigantic cigar in our area where we are TRYING to enjoy our lunch and some fresh air )
This Beautifully sculpted man then pulls up his sweatshirt to reveal a boston bruins shirt , when i say "uh oh, might not want to take off that hoodie around here "
when he asks "why is there a problem,? "
…long story short, we had no way of putting this time back into our day, it was just lost time.
at which point it got awkward and he was just lingering so Marco asked him nicely with his aggressive german accent "excuse me sir, can you please get your cigar the F*&& out of my face, im eating my lunch …. "
I was so proud of marco.
what can we pull from this story. there ARE boston fans in montreal, but they don't have jobs . go habs go

Road trips on Rogue ships
The weekends .
so its been a couple weeks or so since my last blog.
Last weekend we went to vermont. we were hosted by a few skate friends that were really fun to hang out with. really happy to meet some new skaters and we skated some fun freeride spots. in retrospect. the fact that vermont is only 2 hours away and all i can see is amazing mountain passes. this adds a whole new awesome to the summer. enjoy this video i put together that sums up our skating.
In the states they have some crazy energy drink options . my advice : just avoid them. some rockstar flavours come with options like "with a straw" or "double the caffeine " … impressive. also . although the Canadian dollar is so good right now i learned quickly in stores this doesn't matter, and nobody has debit. still… yep so if you HAD to spend some canadian it was worth 80cents to them . just a tip (lesson learned) , take out some american money from your bank before going from now on :)
But once again i thank the awesome people who helped us have a good time in their great country :)
This weekend was BABC or Boarders Against Breast Cancer . where hosted on the third floor of a beautiful venue right downtown toronto, you could find me and about 200 other people drinking lots of beer to support the cause. The night was electric. 25$ entry and cheap beer all night. The Raffles seemed endless, i actually think there may have been more prizes than people. The amount of support from all the companies was absolutely incredible.
I will post a link for the pictures or videos once they are put together :)
So Primo Andrea Mia and Me all went and Primo won… well everything. We were impressed he won two of the raffles and took home a whollleee bunchh of awesome stuff! yay primo , free food and cookies and a giant pink couch.
there are just to many stories to tell about this night that if you want to hear more you'll have to call me. so much fun .
Saturday - Went for breakfast with Dustin in Barrie. really nice to sit down with him and chat for a bit i miss him and his wife. they are such great people.
At night (830) it was earth hour. so we unplugged all the .. well actually we unplugged everything in primes apartment and lit candles and proceeded to play jenga . thats right we played a game made of wood over candles.
not all bad though it was fun and only a few ended up with wax on them . oh and the beer.
Also special thanks to primo for putting up with us for a couple nights i miss this dude and our crazy adventures so its always fun to get to hang out.
Sunday - Brunch - My dad came and met me in toronto for brunch WHAT AN AMAZING morning :) couldn't ask for better. sat in a restaurant Dad Mia and I. No one else in the place except the waitress and the cook .
So big thanks to Him for coming so far :)
The board swap / Slide competition. This…. it went well. i sold ALOT of boards and gear for kebbek , ambitious , myself, and friends in QC . It was amazing seeing all my ontario skate friends again and it was even more great that we got to have a slide competition together . But it was even more fun ACTUALLY skating with them ! and when we skate, we skate hard. The slide competition was a blast. you can see how all your friends have progressed. for some , the winter is a time to snowboard or take time off from skateboarding. but for a lot of my friends . almost every single one of them went to California, BC , or some other much warmer country to get in some riding while we were all here freezing our… well knees off due to how much snow we had!
So proud of everyones riding this weekend keep up the awesome.
Special Thanks to Mia for putting up with me for a few days :) you rock ! :D and thanks again to primo for putting us all up for the couple nights!
So check out the video links i post and i will have some pictures up soon too!

Adventure #83
Sunday was a nice day. Not to cold. streets started to dry up and i realized. yes. this week i will skate in montreal for the first time since i moved.
On wednesday we had a group of 10 riders go out and ride montreal underground. this is not like "montreal underground parking garage" this is LITERALLY montreal tunnels and passages from subways to stores and hotels. Also we did find some Parkades to enjoy :) we skated for what seemed like only a couple hours and ended up very exhausted. i looked at the time and realized we had ACTUALLY be skating for 5.5 hours. uh-maze-ing :D
But on the sunday i previously mentioned i had promised something more to myself. that i would YES, skate to work. well friday came and i realized. THE DEADLINE IS HERE. it wasnt snowing this morning at 8. which would have been a good time to head to work. but insteAd i left at 10:15. It had started to just sprinkle snow. no big deal. It was still nice and warm out so i knew i would have no problems with cold. so i left my house AND WENT FOR GOLD ! I can only wish that it was a race because honestly most people would have given up in this situation. So 17 KM From my apartment to my work. start off the season strong right? no big deal? usually my average speed is 23-25 KM/hour pushing. The snow storm set in and by the last 5 KM there was barely any road for me to use. but i made it just in time. luckily i brought a change of clothes to work with me. Tim opened the door when I showed up and all he said was "you are a brave man"
I figure I could describe the whole trip but I am going to summarize.
go south. go east. go south. go east. rinse repeat .
I skated through an area i had never been before. I found myself stopping in front of City hall. every building within 1KM of this place is magnificent to look at . just incredible eye candy for architecture. anyone who saw me either gave me the thumbs up or pointed me out to a friend.
It was a very interesting time to say the least. probably won't do that again if i dont have to but it definitely made my day :)
a picture is worth a thousand words so here is a picture that might give you an idea of what i went through
it was nuts.
but alas i was warm and i didnt lose my grin the entire skate :)
